Krista and Kyle had an intimate and beautiful wedding. Their wedding ceremony took place in the woods, located at the mother of the groom's house in Port Perry. It was done up with handmade decor, including white pumpkins with gold glitter designs, chandeliers, delicate baby's breath and hydrangea flowers, and various other rustic features. The flowers were done by The Purple Peony. I absolutely loved how personal everything about this wedding was. It was so nice to see how much their family and close friends were involved in everything.
Krista wore cowboy boots, which fit the country rustic theme perfectly, and looked fantastic with her bouquet. Her dress was so detailed and elegant, with delicate beaded work. Her hair and makeup were done by her sisters, who do freelance work. Her ring was custom designed and features very ornate filigree and an opal centre piece, which I am absolutely in love with.
The ceremony was officiated by the bride's uncle, who is very important to the couple. Their ring bearer was Jessie, the dog. The rings were attached to Jessie's collar, along with some fall coloured leaves, and he was walked down the isle alongside the groom and the mother of the groom. The isle led to a little opening in the woods, where family and friends were gathered around in a semi-circle for the intimate ceremony. Following the ceremony was a champagne toast to the newlyweds, which was such a great little touch that made this wedding even more unique.
Following that, my second shooter (Melissa) and I went deeper into the woods to take the bridal portraits while the guests went back up near the house for refreshments.
The reception was held at Old Flame Brewery, located in Port Perry. The venue was also decorated with personal rustic touches that tied in perfectly with the brewery's decor. The cocktail reception was catered by Port Perry Culinary School and beverages were served by the brewery. There was spiked apple cider out as well, which tied in nicely with the autumn theme. I have to admit that it was the best apple cider I have ever tasted! I may have even had a second glass of it. The bride and groom were announced and made their grand entrance through the venue's main doors. From that, they went right into their first dance, which was also the very unique choice of 'Iris' by The Goo Goo Dolls. The desserts and favours were all homemade by Kyle and Krista's mothers. They served a wide variety of pies, cake, and apple crumble. The favours were homemade peach jam. During the reception, we were able to take Krista and Kyle in back for some portraits with the brewing tanks, which was very exciting to see, and we also stepped outside with the couple for some portraits using the brewery's architectural designs. Their guest 'book' was a game of Jenga, where guests could each sign a piece of the game. I loved how creative that idea was.
Overall, it was such a beautiful wedding with many heartfelt speeches, vows, and moments. Thank you so much Kyle and Krista, for allowing me to capture this special day for you. I really enjoyed being your wedding photographer. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, love, and of course we can't forget 'mutual weirdness'.
